Title

A Resolution of the City Commission of Coral Gables authorizing expenditures in the amount of $16,425.05 from the Coral Gables Police State Forfeited Asset Fund (FAF) monies to provide for the purchase of a Robotic Remote Reconnaissance System for the Coral Gables Police SWAT team.

Body

The Coral Gables Police Department SWAT team has identified that the team does not currently have the capability to remotely survey a hostile environment without inserting personnel first to conduct necessary reconnaissance. The acquisition of a robotic remote reconnaissance system would enable that capability and reduce some of the safety risks during SWAT team operations.  The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on January 7th, 2009 and approved this proposed expenditure.
