Communications Committee Meeting of November 15, 2007

The minutes from the October meeting were circulated for approval.
Motion: Katherine deBlij motioned to approve the October meeting minutes with corrections. David Stiefel seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Edward Polow from IT Department provided an update on web advertisement. He advised that the department is still investigating this project to produce revenues from other sources. IT is also looking to expand the WiFi, wireless connection to the Internet, within the City.
Higgins Fallon distributed the 2007 Annual Report from the Communications Committee for review and approval. This report is required by the City Commission. DeBlij noted corrections on question #4.
Motion: Vivian More motioned to approve the Communications Committee Annual Report with corrections. Katherine DeBlij seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Higgins Fallon distributed the latest issue of Golden Gables that is being distributed this month to senior residents. She also reported that a new CGTV studio has been completed at the basement of the Police Station. The studio has two set designs, one for interview shows, and another for news reports. CGTV now has the capability of going live from this studio. CGTV has won three 2007 Davey Awards, silver statues for the production of the Miami Children's Chorus show, Coral Gables Now and On The Scene.
Higgins Fallon will send an e-mail to all Communications Committee members to inquire if they would like to meet in the month of December.
Stiefel inquired about the status of budget cuts. He also inquired about the Trolley advertisement project. Higgins Fallon reported that this project is in the hands of the Procurement Division as they are in the process to issue a request for proposal.
With no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
