A Resolution of the City Commission Relating to the Provision of Fire Protection Services, Facilities and Programs in the City of Coral Gables, Florida; Providing Authority, Definitions and Interpretation; Reimposing Fire Protection Assessments Against Assessed Property Located Within the City, for the Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2025; Confirming the Preliminary Assessment Resolution; Approving the Assessment Roll and Providing for Collection; Providing for Application of Assessment Proceeds; Providing for Effect; Providing for Conflicts, Severability, and an Effective Date.

Body
The Initial Assessment Resolution (Resolution Number 2009-231) was adopted August 25, 2009, and the Final Assessment Resolution (Resolution Number 2009-267) was adopted September 22, 2009. Ordinance Number 2009-37 was adopted August 25, 2009, authorizing the imposition and collection of fire protection assessments, but was replaced with the Master Service Assessment Ordinance in 2015 (No. 2015-09).

On May 20, 2025, the City adopted the Preliminary Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 2025-167), which initiated the process for the annual imposition of Fire Protection Assessments. There are no changes in the proposed Fire Protection Assessment rates for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2025.

Pursuant to the Master Service Assessment Ordinance, the final step for the imposition of the Fire Protection Assessments is the adoption of an Annual Assessment Resolution. All required notices have been provided to affected property owners in accordance with the Master Service Assessment Ordinance and the Preliminary Assessment Resolution.
