Body
The City’s Fleet Division supports City operations by maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and cost efficiency. The City’s on-site vehicle and equipment parts and supply services are provided by Genuine Parts Company dba NAPA Auto Parts, which enables immediate access to frequently used parts and supplies required for fleet maintenance activities. Procurement is recommending utilizing the cooperative agreement through the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) under Section 2-947 of the Procurement Code.
Under Section 2-945 of the Procurement Code, the Commission may approve purchases for supplies or services in excess of $600,000 from current contracts of other governmental units, which contracts have resulted from a formal competitive bid process.
The current HCSO contract with NAPA Auto Parts was competitively solicited under RFP No. 2024-017 which complies with the solicitation requirements contained within Section 2-945 of the Procurement Code. The Chief Procurement Officer recommends the utilization of this contract awarded by HCSO with Genuine Parts Company dba NAPA Auto Parts.
Under Section 2-947, the City may participate in cooperative purchasing agreements for the procurement of any goods or services with one or more governmental units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.
