TITLE:
Pablo M. Bielecki, P.E., representing the Florida Department of Transportation, requesting a resolution from the City Commission to proceed with the survey and public information meetings for the construction of  a new sidewalk along Bird Road from S. W. 57th Avenue to Riviera Drive, to comply with ADA requirements and to provide continuous sidewalk through this corridor.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION:
That a Resolution granting permission to the FDOT to proceed with the survey and the public information meetings for the construction of new sidewalk along Bird Road from S. W. 57th Avenue to Riviera Drive to comply with ADA requirements, be approved by the City Commission.
BRIEF HISTORY:
The Florida Department of Transportation approached the City of Coral Gables to discuss the proposed Bird Road (SR 976) resurfacing project and construction of sidewalk  from S. W. 57th Avenue to Riviera Drive, to comply with ADA requirements and to provide continuous sidewalk through this corridor.

Public Works director met with FDOT representatives to review the proposed plans.  It is recommended that the FDOT be granted permission to proceed with survey and public information meetings since it is in the best interest of the City to allow the sidewalk installation.  The Florida Department of Transportation will report back to the City regarding the final plan prior to its implementation.
