Recommendation of the City Manager
It is recommended that the Cathedral of St. George be permitted to sell alcoholic beverages 11:00 a.m. to midnight on Friday, February 27, 2009, on Palermo Ave and from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2009, on Palmero Ave as part of the Coral Gables Middle Eastern Festival, subject to Florida Department of Professional Regulation.
 
Brief History
Last year, over a thousand people participated in the annual Coral Gables Middle Eastern Festival hosted by St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral of Coral Gables, featuring three days of delicious Mediterranean food and pastries, fabulous music and dance, and shopping and entertainment for people of all ages. This annual Festival brings together the community of Coral Gables and South Florida to enjoy festivities and learn about the Antiochian Orthodox Christian faith, history and culture.
