Title

A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the execution of an agreement for sewer connection for property  located outside the City’s sewer district at 12850 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, Florida into the City of Coral Gables wastewater collection and transmission system, subject to the requirements of the Public Works Department, as provided under Chapters 62 and 78 of the City Code, Ordinance Nos. 2007-29 and 2009-39 and Resolution No. 2008-07; and provided that the executed agreement be made part of this resolution.

Body

Carlab Engineering, Inc., on behalf of the property owners, John and Graciela Crespo, is requesting authorization for a sanitary sewer connection to serve a single-family residence located at 12850 SW 57 Avenue in Pinecrest, Florida. The property lies outside the City limits and will connect to the City of Coral Gables’ wastewater collection and transmission system, discharging into City Pump Station A.

This request is being made pursuant to the provisions set forth in Chapters 62 and 78 of the City Code, Ordinance Nos. 2007-29 and 2009-39, and Resolution No. 2008-07. As required, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department has provided a release of service for the property. According to the Miami-Dade Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), PS-A and all downstream infrastructure, including the treatment plant, currently have sufficient capacity to accommodate the proposed flow.

The property owner has agreed to comply with all applicable City requirements, including those outlined in City Code Section 78-106. A Letter of Agreement from Carlab Engineering, Inc., dated May 8, 2025, outlines the terms and will be incorporated into a formal agreement to be approved by the City Attorney and made part of this resolution.

The property owner will pay a sewer connection fee based on an estimated average daily flow of 510 GPD and a peaking factor of 4.44 (per Ten State Standards), resulting in a peak flow of 2,264.4 GPD. The...
