Resolution accepting the bid of Florida Construction & Engineering Inc., in the amount of $175,792.21, for the construction of ADA compliant Granada Pro-Shop Restrooms.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION:
That a Resolution accepting the bid of Florida Construction & Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $175,792.21 for the construction of the Granada Pro-Shop Restrooms to comply with all ADA accessible requirements, in accordance with the settlement agreement between the City of Coral Gables and the Department of Justice, be approved by the City Commission.
BRIEF HISTORY:
Pursuant to the provisions of its Charter, the City advertised to accept bids for the construction of the Granada Pro-Shop Restrooms. The following bids were received and opened on November 14, 2007:
Florida Construction & Engineering, Inc.
Copeland Construction Group, Inc.
SA Consultants, LLC
J.R.T Construction Co.
Design-Build Interamerican, Inc.
ABC Construction Inc.
Upon checking/verifying references, the Public Works Department recommends awarding to the lowest bidder: Florida Construction & Engineering Inc.
The bid of Florida Construction & Engineering, Inc. for the construction of the Granada Pro-Shop Restrooms, having been determined to be the most responsive bid received and having been recommended by the Public Works Department, is accepted in a sum of $175,792.21.
The Finance Director is directed to charge these projects to the Capital Improvement Fund.
