A Resolution of the City Commission amending Resolution No. 2025-20 to clarify the placement of the five city-owned Jean Ward sculptures within The Underline; authorizing an agreement with the Friends of The Underline to design and construct necessary foundations for the sculptures; and approving the use of The Underline’s branded signage for continuity with other artworks throughout The Underline.

On January 28, 2025, the City Commission approved a long-term loan of five Jean Ward sculptures to The Underline, and placement of the sculptures within the Coral Gables section of The Underline.
The artworks are remaining on city property; therefore, a loan agreement is unnecessary, and the artworks will remain part of the city’s regular public art maintenance plan.
The Friends of The Underline will be responsible for design and construction of necessary foundations, following all permitting and construction requirements.
In addition, signage is recommended that follows the design standards of The Underline for consistency with other artworks throughout The Underline. The artwork will be recognized as being a part of the city’s public art collection.
