Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award a contract for Security Guard Services to World International Security, Inc. pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code and Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2009.05.04 in the amount of $10.85 per hour annualized to $103,075.00 (One Hundred Three Thousand and Seventy Five Dollars); further authorizing an initial two (2) year contract with an option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.

This contract consists of uniformed security guard services for the City’s 2800 SW 72nd Avenue facility to deter any potential theft, vandalism, trespassers, or any activity which may damage City facilities or disrupt operations.   In addition, this contract also provides security guard services as needed for various City events.

 

On May 21, 2009, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Security Guard Services Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2009.05.04.   On June 4, 2009, a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held and eight (8) prospective bidders attended of forty (40) prospective bidders who downloaded the bid document from the web-site or picked up the bid document from the Procurement Division of Finance.

 

On June 25, 2009, fourteen (14) bid responses were received and of those that responded nine (9) responsive bids were submitted by PM Security, CSS Security, Allied Barton Security, American Guard Services, Diamond Detective Agency, Security Management Innovations, High Class Security, Alliance Management Corporation and SMI Security; one (1) bidder, Integrity International Security, was determined to be non-responsive; and three (3) no bids were submitted by Monarch Security Services, Sereca Corporation and Diamond Security.

 

The lowest responsive responsible bidder for is World International Security, the City’s current security guard services provider, with their bid of $10.85 per hour annualized to $103,075 (One hundred three thousand and seventy five dollars).    The hourly rate of $10.85 is in effect for the length of the contract.   The current rate paid to World International Security for Security Guard Services is $10.00 per hour.
