Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Old Cutler Road Force Main Replacement-Phase IV Project to R&G Engineering, Inc. pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code and Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2009.09.10, in the amount of $368,908.75 (three hundred sixty-eight thousand nine hundred eight dollars and seventy-five cents); further authorizing an appropriation of funds for this project.

This project is the continuation of the Old Cutler Road Force Main Replacement-Phase III. The scope of work is comprised of the installation of approximately 3,325 linear feet of 12-inch PVC force main, including all pipe, fittings and valves necessary for a new segment of force main along Old Cutler Road and all appurtenant work including temporary utilities as required, completed, tested and ready for operation.
On September 11, 2009, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Old Cutler Road Force Main Replacement-Phase IV Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 2009.09.10. On September 24, 2009, a non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and site visit was held with five (5) prospective bidders in attendance of the thirty-nine (39) contractors and subcontractors who downloaded the bid documents from the web site or picked up the bid documents from the Procurement Division of Finance. On October 15, 2009, thirteen (13) bid responses were received and of those that responded (12) twelve responsive bids were submitted by: R&G Engineering, Inc., JVA Engineering Contractor, Inc., Tasco Engineering Group, Inc., Florida Engineering & Development, Wrangler Construction, GMI Contracting, Inc., Dave Foote Environmental Construction, Inc., Tran Construction, Inc., Pabon Engineering, Inc., Solution Construction, Inc., Rock Power Paving, Inc., Horizon Contractors, Inc., and (1) one no bid response from RJR Construction, Inc.
The lowest responsive responsible bidder for the Old Cutler Road Force Main Replacement - Phase IV was R&G Engineering, Inc. with their bid of $368,908.75 (three hundred sixty-eight thousand nine hundred eight dollars and seventy-five cents).
An appropriation of funds is hereby authorized for the Old Cutler Road Force Main Replacement-Phase IV Project from the Sanitary Sewer Account No. 410-9900-535-63-00.
