Title

Congratulations to Amanda LeVasser,  Historical Resources and Cultural Arts Department, recipient of "Employee of the Month Award", for May 2024.

Body

I am delighted to nominate Amanda Levasser, our Archivist from the Historical Resources and Cultural Arts Department, as the Employee of the Month. She has made invaluable contributions in the development of the city’s centennial website from providing access to countless historic photos from the city’s archives to doing additional research and providing context for hard-to-place moments in time. Her expertise and passion for her work have greatly enriched the content and quality of the website, providing our community with an engaging and informative resource. We couldn't have reached this point without her.

Amanda's collegial and "get the job done" attitude has made her an indispensable member of our unofficial centennial team. Her cooperative spirit has fostered a positive and productive interdepartmental collaboration. Her knowledge and responsiveness were crucial to ensuring our information was accurate.

I am pleased to nominate someone who works behind the scenes so that our city’s rich history is preserved and that our heritage is meticulously documented. She is a well-deserving candidate for the city’ Employee of the Month.

Martha Pantín, director, Communications & Public Affairs

Amanda was an incredible help in forming the vision for the centennial website and other projects currently in motion. She also was great to work with. We had to ask her for what felt like hundreds of photos. What could have been a response of respectable annoyance to all our requests outside her usual work was instead met with a response of eagerness and positive encouragement. This award is fully deserved, she is one of the hidden treasures in the Coral Gables Archives.

Nicolás Sáenz, webmaster, Communications & Public Affairs

Amanda is an integral part of the Historical Resources and Cultural Arts Department. She is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Raul E. Valdes-Fauli Archives, a collection of documents, artifacts, memorabilia, books, maps and photographs encompassing the history of both Coral Gables and South Florida.

Amanda is always willing to assist her coworkers and help with projects. As the city’s Centennial approaches, Amanda has been working with multiple departments and outside agencies to provide her expertise. She is easy to work with and always has a positive attitude. We appreciate her hard work and dedication to the City of Coral Gables, and she would make an excellent candidate for Employee of the Month.
