There was no new business.
OLD BUSINESS:
a. AIPP WAIVER REQUEST, GABLES LIVING
Ms. Cathers advised the Panel that the Cultural Development Board liked the piece by Gustavo Velez that was presented for consideration and requested more information about why the Panel did not recommend it.

ART IN PUBLIC PLACES UPDATES:
The Panel was updated on the status of the following projects:
• Eternal Vigilance, Coral Gables Police and Fire Headquarters
City Commission approval of additional scope requested by the Police and Fire Chief to include cast emblems and lighting on the base of the sculpture.
• Whispering through a stone proposal by Janine Antoni
Janine Antoni continued to look at sites and is proposing a location along Miracle Mile or at Merrick Park across from City Hall. The Panel reviewed the proposed locations and was advised that the proposal will be presented to the Cultural Development Board at their next meeting. After a brief discussion, the following motion was made:
Ms. Miyar made a motion recommending Adler Guerrier to speak on behalf of the Panel to the Cultural Development Board regarding Janine Antoni’s proposal. Mr. Roselione-Valadez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
• Locations for future public artworks
Updated proposed locations were discussed. Mr. Roselione-Valadez asked if locations along US 1 could also be considered. The Panel briefly discussed how to be involved in artwork selected and installed in the Underline portion running through Coral Gables. Panel members and staff agreed to re-visit the topic with Miami-Dade County.
• Private Development Installations
Michele Oka Doner piece has been partially installed at The Plaza.
CITY COMMISSION ITEMS:
There were no further City Commission items.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
Panel members discussed various artists for upcoming public art opportunities. Mr. Guerrier shared his enthusiasm of recent work by Wangechi Mutu at Art Basel. He strongly suggested reaching out to the artist again to gauge her interest. Ms. Miyar recommended Jorge Pardo, and Ms. Cathers reported that Hernan Bas’ gallery has requested information regarding the Mobility Hub.

ITEMS FROM THE SECRETARY:
The Panel was asked to consider changing their monthly meeting to the first Wednesday of each month. The Panel briefly discussed, and the following motion was made:
Ms. Miyar made a motion to change the Arts Advisory Panel meetings to the first Wednesday of the month starting in February. Ms. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
