The nomination was submitted by three Department Heads, below is an excerpt from each nomination:
Nomination 1 - Martha Pantin, Director of Communications & Public Affairs:
“Versatility is the hallmark of high performers and Nicolas Saenz has proven to be a very versatile team member. He began in the Communications and Public Affairs Office as a producer, editor. When I began working for the city, I quickly realized that in addition to being able to produce he was apt at administrative functions which was important as we needed a point person to handle these matters. I quickly learned that he was also a talented writer and editor who quickly caught on to AP Style, which we instituted for the city to insure we adhered to a standard. He was instrumental in helping organize events such as the swearing in ceremony for the Mayor and Commissioners and gave his all, despite it being his birthday.”
Nomination 2 - Billy Urquia, City Clerk:
“The reason for my nomination is the immense help on bringing to life the new state-of-the-art website for the City of Coral Gables. Mr. Saenz has worked diligently on creating a website that many are describing as user-friendly, professional, and cutting edge while maintaining the Coral Gables feel. Nicolas was presented a huge undertaking, he proudly took ownership of the project and delivered more than we could have ever expected. On the professional side, he resolves in analyzing and solving issues as they arise constantly looking for areas of improvement. He always finds a way to find a solution to any problems or suggestions. He has attained a tremendous skill to fulfill his duties, which include but are not limited to conducting research with all departments, providing solutions to complex issues and being actively involved in their resolution and implementation.”
Nomination 3 - Raimundo Rodulfo, Innovation & Technology Director:
“Nick is a great team player and a fast-learning skillful practitioner. He has developed a great rapport with all city staff and always has a can-do, positive attitude. He has helped our IT team to communicate and promote our City’s technology initiatives, innovations and project launches, with high quality content production. We appreciate him dearly and thank him for the teamwork, collaboration and continued partnership implementing technology to foster citizen engagement and communication with our residents, visitors, and businesses.”
