Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Pump Station "A" Upgrades Project to R&G Engineering, Inc. pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code and IFB 2010.04.30 in the amount of $498,000.00 (four hundred ninety-eight thousand dollars); further authorizing an appropriation of funds for this project.

The Pump Station "A" Upgrades Project consists of the re-construction of a new pump station including the structure housing the pump station, installation of a new sanitary sewer pump and related equipment; restoration of pump station area to pre-construction conditions, testing of new equipment; while maintaining uninterrupted sewer system service.
On April 30, 2010, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised the Pump Station "A" Upgrades Project Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2010.04.30. On May 11, 2010, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with five (5) prospective bidders in attendance of the eighteen (18) contractors and subcontractors who either downloaded the bid document from the Procurement webpage or picked up the bid documents from the Procurement Division of Finance. On May 18, 2010, prospective bidders attended a scheduled site visit at Pump Station "A" located at 1590 Campamento Avenue. On June 8, 2010, seven (7) responsive bids were submitted by: Southeastern Engineering & Contractors, Inc., ABC Construction, Inc., Metro Equipment Services, Inc., Gonzalez and Sons Equipment, Inc., Comtech Engineering, Inc., R&G Engineering, Inc., and Governor Construction, Inc.
The lowest responsive responsible bid for the Pump Station "A" Upgrades Project was submitted by R & G Engineering, Inc. with their bid of $498,000.00 (four hundred ninety-eight thousand dollars). The Consulting Engineering (Hazen and Sawyer) for the project and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award R&G Engineering, Inc., the Pump Station "A" Upgrades Project.
