(Deferred from the February 22, 2011 meeting.)

The Ponce de Leon Road Force Main Replacement Project consists of the replacement of a force main that runs west from the intersection of Old Cutler Road and N. Kendall Drive (SW 88th Street) to Ponce de Leon Road (SW 49th Avenue), turning north and ending at Sunset Drive (SW 72nd Street).
On December 27, 2010, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised the Ponce de Leon Road Force Main Replacement Project Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2010.12.27. On January 22, 2011, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with eleven (11) prospective bidders in attendance of the fifty-four (54) contractors and subcontractors who either downloaded the bid document from the Procurement webpage or picked up the bid documents from the Procurement Division.
On January 27, 2011, twenty-one (21) responsive bids were submitted by Danella Utility Construction, Inc., GPE Engineering and General Contractors Corporation, R&G Engineering, Wrangler Construction, Inc., JVA Engineering Contractor, Inc., Florida Engineering and Development, Metro Equipment Service, Inc., Persant Construction Company, Inc., Gonzalez and Sons Equipment, Inc., Metro Express, Scaltec USA, Atlantic Civil, Inc., Intercounty Engineering, Inc., Morlic Engineering Corporation, Caribe Utilities, Rock Power Paving, Southeastern Engineering, Giannetti Contracting Corporation, Acosta Tractors, Williams Paving Company, Inc., Coreland Construction and one (1) no-bid response from Ram-Tech.
The lowest responsive responsible bid for the Ponce de Leon Road Force Main Replacement Project was submitted by GPE Engineering and General Contractors Corporation, with their bid of $1,039,957.19. The Consulting Engineering firm for the project, Hazen and Sawyer, Inc., and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation to award GPE Engineering and General Contractors Corporation, the Ponce de Leon Road Force Main Replacement Project.
