Brief History

Resolution No. 2008-201 (as amended) established certain fees for licenses, permits, services, and penalties that were passed and adopted on Resolution amending Resolution No. 2008-201 (as amended) to include an increase in the monthly rate for sewer service charges provided for under Section 78-100 of the Code of the City of Coral Gables to $28.00 per month minimum based on the measured use of water not exceeding 700 cubic feet and $4.00 per hundred cubic feet over 700 cubic feet to recover Miami-Dade’s increase in wholesale wastewater rates and to provide funding for necessary repairs and improvements to the system; repealing all parts of resolutions inconsistent herewith and providing an effective date of January 1, 2010.November 18, 2008.  Included in Resolution No. 2008-201 (as amended) are the sewer service charges provided for under Sec. 78-100 that were last updated on August 24, 2004 under Ordinance No. 2004-31.  Effective October 1, 2009 Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department increased the wholesale wastewater rates that are charged to the City on all the City’s wastewater discharged into Miami-Dade’s sewage transmission facilities by  21.15%.  This Resolution amends Resolution No. 2008-201 by increasing the sewer service charges to $29.40 per month minimum, based on the measured use of water not exceeding 700 cubic feet, and $4.20 per hundred cubic feet over 700 cubic feet to recover the additional cost of operating the sanitary sewer system and to provide funding for necessary repairs and improvements to the system.
