Congratulations to Lt. Marc Sampedro, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of August 2022.

Lt. Sampedro has been selected August’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
There is an incredible talent pool within the ranks of our fire department. He is dependable and goes above and beyond in the community. A few weeks ago, Station 2’s fence was vandalized with graffiti on the fence door that secures the station garbage container. Lt. Sampedro took it upon himself to purchase green paint, clean the fence and paint it like new again. This type of action shows Lt. Sampedro’s commitment and pride. While it is understood that it’s the City’s responsibility to take care of such repairs, this type of action cannot be overlooked.
Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication to the Fire Department Lt. Marc Sampedro is nominated for Firefighter of the month for August 2022.
