Congratulations to Firefighter Nicholas Balsera, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of June 2019.

Firefighter Nicholas Balsera, has been selected June’s Firefighter of the Month for his excellence in conduct, such as responsibility, dependability and positive attitude; specifically going well beyond expectations as a firefighter. His attitude and professionalism on shift regarded as the highest. FF Balsera is on the ALS team which is currently ranked eighth in the state and helped lead the way to a department best of third in the Randy Boaz ALS Competition. He is an instructor with the CGFD cadet class for the last two years. He is a perfect example of what young recruits need to attempt to mimic. FF Balsera also takes initiative to better himself by taking more advance training courses, such as VMR and high angle rescue.
Firefighter Balsera is well deserving of this honor and we congratulate him for his efforts.
