Body

The Special Olympics mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded in 1968. Special Olympics strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.

Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. In partnering with the Special Olympics of Florida, the City of Coral Gables Community Recreation Department hopes to strive to provide a better and more fulfilling experience for the community and provide programming that enables members of the community to participate.  The Community Recreation Department will continue to pursue partnerships that will enhance the accessible recreation program and continue to fulfill the 3-tiered programming approach that the city has created for serving the community
