Title

A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to award the Citywide Roofing Phase II  project for Public Works to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in an amount of $ 159,740.70, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2018-016 and Section 2-763 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award”.

Body

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to establish a contract with a successful contractor for the repair and replacement of leaking roofs at the Granada Golf Course Clubhouse located at 2001 Granada Boulevard, Coral Gables, as well as the Girl Scout House located at 3901 Granada Boulevard due to weather damage and lack of proper maintenance.  

On August 10, 2018, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the IFB for the Citywide Roofing Phase II. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held on August 22, 2018, with eight (8) prospective bidders in attendance of the twenty four (24) prospective bidders who downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.

 

On September 12, 2018, three (3) bids were received in response to the IFB 2018-016 from: A-1 property Services Group, Inc., Atlas Apex Roofing, LLC., and Z Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc.

 

The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be Z Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc., with an estimated amount of $159,740.70 which includes 20% contingency allowance. The Public Works Department and the Procurement Officer recommend awarding the Citywide Roofing Phase II contract to Z roofing & Waterproofing, Inc.
