Title
A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to authorize a Cooperative contract with Genuine Parts Company d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts from the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), to provide on-site vehicle and equipment parts and supply services pursuant to Section 2-947 of the Procurement Code.
Body
The City’s on-site vehicle and equipment parts and supply services are provided by Genuine Parts Company d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts. Procurement is recommending utilizing the cooperative agreement through the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) under Section 2-947 of the Procurement Code. NJPA is a public purchasing cooperative set-up by the State of Minnesota with over 50,000 member agencies nationwide, which the City of Coral Gables is also a member.
Under Section 2-945 of the Procurement Code, the Commission may approve purchases for supplies and services in excess of $600,000 from current contracts of other governmental units, which contracts have resulted from a formal competitive bid process.
The current NJPA contract with NAPA was competitively solicited by the National Joint Power Alliance under RFP No. 061015 which complies with the solicitation requirements contained within Section 2-945 of the Procurement Code. The Procurement Officer is recommending the utilization of this contract and subsequently awarded NJPA contracts with Genuine Parts Company d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts.
Under Section 2-947, the City may participate in cooperative purchasing agreements for the procurement of any goods or services with one or more governmental units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.
