Title

An Ordinance of the City Commission of Coral Gables amending the Code of the City of Coral Gables by amending Section 101-109 “Notices” of Division 2 “Code Enforcement Board” and Section 101-139 “Schedule and Conduct of Administrative Hearing” of Division 3 “Supplemental Code Enforcement Procedures” of Article IV “Code Enforcement” of Chapter 101 “Administration And Enforcement,” to amend the requirements for Service of Notices; providing for a repealer provision, severability clause, codification, and providing for an effective date.

Body

This ordinance amends the provisions regarding service of required code enforcement notices to conform to those in Chapter 162, Florida Statutes. This change will ensure that the City will always be able to obtain adequate service to proceed with a code enforcement case, even if a property is vacant or  abandoned and the owner has not updated the mailing address with the property appraiser.
