A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to award the Kerdyk Tennis Center Building Renovations to Azulejo, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the amount of $1,215,228.00, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2017.12.VF and Section 2-763 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award”.

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to establish a contract with a successful contractor to provide all supervision, materials, labor, machinery, tools, supplies, and equipment and any other items as necessary to perform the complete renovation and expansion of the existing Kerdyk Tennis Center building located at 1150 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, 33134 to include but not be limited to the relocation of the stairs, interior and exterior remodeling with new doors and windows, terrace extension, new bathrooms, replacement of all systems; mechanical, plumbing and electrical and complete interior remodeling making the building more accessible.
On December 8, 2017, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the IFB for the Kerdyk Tennis Center Building Renovations. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held on December 20, 2017, with eleven (11) prospective bidders in attendance of the sixty-six (66) prospective bidders who downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.
On January 24, 2018, six (6) bids were received in response to the IFB 2017.12.VF from: Allied Contractors, Inc.; Azulejo, Inc.; Builcore, Inc.; E.L.C.O. Construction Group, Inc.; State Contracting & Engineering Corp.; and West Construction, Inc.
The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be Azulejo, Inc. with an estimated amount of $1,215,228.00. The Public Works Department and the Procurement Officer recommend awarding the the Kerdyk Tennis Center Building Renovations contract to Azulejo, Inc.
