Title

Congratulations to the City of Coral Gables’ Cocoplum Pump Stations and Force Main Upgrade, for winning the "Resilient Project of the Year Award."

Body

Today, water and wastewater utilities have a unique opportunity to integrate resilience into operations and planning. Building a resilient utility is a significant and long-term effort that can only be accomplished through institutional commitment and regional collaboration. The Resilient Utility Coalition (RUC) was created with the objective of advancing utility infrastructure resilience efforts.

About a year ago, the Utilities of Coral Gables entered to be part of the RUC in effort to understand, share and lead opportunities to integrate resilience into design, construction, and operation.

Public Works is proud to have staff and consultants who have demonstrated leadership in this effort but also to be part of the first Envision certified project in South Florida.  This effort resulted in the City of Coral Gables winning the Resilient Project of the Year Award for the Cocoplum Pump Stations and Force Main Upgrade project.
