A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to authorize participation in a piggyback contract with Comtech Engineering, Inc., for new construction and repairs of water and sewer mains in accordance with Section 2-978 of the Procurement Code entitled, "Use Of Other Governmental Unit Contracts (piggyback)."
Body
The Broward County Contract with Comtech Engineering, Inc. is based on a formal solicitation in compliance with Section 2-978 of the Procurement Code. The contract has an initial term that will expire August 27, 2015, with a one (1) year renewal option.
The purpose of this piggyback contract is to provide new construction and repairs of water and sewer mains within the utility areas served by Miami-Dade County. Included in the scope of work is the installation of limited lengths of small diameter pipe, fittings, valves, maintenance hatches and service lines.
The Chief Procurement Officer in consultation with the Public Works Director has determined that Comtech Engineering, Inc., will best meet the needs of the City.
