A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Museum Lighting and Gates contract to Bejar Construction, Inc., pursuant to Invitation For Bids (IFB) 2014.10.23 and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled, "Contract Award."
Body
The Museum Lighting And Gates project consists of the installation of two gates and exterior illumination at the Coral Gables Museum located at 285 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables. Contractor shall provide all labor and materials, manpower, tools and necessary hardware to install two gates and exterior lighting at the museum.
On October 23, 2014, the Procurement Division formally advertised, issued and distributed the Museum Lighting and Gates Project Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2014.10.23.
On October 30, 2014, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held three (3) prospective bidders attending out of a total of eleven (11) prospective bidders who obtained the bid package from the Procurement Division.
On November 13, 2014 a non-mandatory site visit was held with nine (9) prospective bidders in attendance.
On December 1, 2014, five (5) bid responses were received from the following: Bejar Construction, Inc.; Tapia Luis M. Service Corporation; G.I.P. Construction Management, Inc.; Canyon Construction, Inc.; and Lego Construction Co.
The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be Bejar Construction, Inc., with a total bid of $179,580.
The Public Works Department and the Consultant concur with the recommendation to award Bejar Construction, Inc. the Museum Lighting and Gates project.
