Title
Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to extend the Landscape Maintenance Services Contract with SFM Services, Inc., pursuant to Section 2-829 of the Procurement Code entitled "Approval of Change Orders and Contract Modifications," on a month-to-month basis from February 1, 2012, for a period not to exceed three (3) months to provide time to complete the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and to approve and execute a new contract.
Brief History
The purpose of the Landscape Maintenance Services contract is to hire a qualified company to provide labor, equipment, materials, supplies and supervision needed for the maintenance of landscaping and irrigation of various locations throughout the City of Coral Gables.
On September 30, 2011, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised the Landscape Maintenance Services Request For Proposals (RFP) 2011.09.23. On October 6, 2011, a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference was held. Eighteen (18) companies downloaded or obtained the RFP package from the Procurement Division.
On November 4, 2011, four (4) proposals were submitted by: Superior Landscaping, Orchidman Landscape, SFM Services and Groundskeepers.
On January 4, 2012, the Evaluation Committee met to evaluate the proposals. After the evaluation committee concluded their evaluation, the pricing component of each proposal was opened and points were assessed to the proposers based on the low price reward method. Based on the composite score of the Evaluation Committee and the pricing evaluation, SFM Services, Inc. was determined to be the most responsive and responsible proposer.
SFM Services, Inc. is the City's current provider of Landscape Maintenance Services.
