Brief History
The purpose of the Coral Gables Trolley Operations contract is to hire a qualified transportation company to provide trained and licensed trolley drivers, dispatchers and a supervisor to operate the City owned Trolley Operations.
On September 30, 2011, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised the Coral Gables Trolley Operations Request For Proposals (RFP) 2011.09.24.  On October 6, 2011, a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference was held.  Nine (9) companies downloaded or obtained the RFP package from the Procurement Division.

On October 27, 2011, two (2) proposals were submitted by: WeDriveU.com and First Transit, with one (1) no bid response received from Limousines of South Florida d/b/a Tectrans.

On November 9, 2011, the Evaluation Committee met to evaluate the proposals.  After the evaluation committee concluded their evaluation, the pricing component of each proposal was opened and points were assessed to the proposers based on the low price reward method.  Based on the composite score of the Evaluation Committee and the pricing evaluation, First Transit, Inc., was determined to be the most responsive and responsible proposer with their proposal and "Best and Final Offer" of $40.83 per Trolley Hour.
