Resolution authorizing the execution of Amendment No. 2 to the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Agreement No. 4600001900, Conveyance Improvements to the C-3 Canal, entered into between City of Coral Gables and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), on February 5, 2010 and amended March 23, 2011, for the purpose of extending the term of the agreement from December 2011 to September 2012, and revising the Payment and Deliverables Schedule.

Brief History
On February 5, 2010 the City entered into an Agreement with the South Florida Water Management District for financial assistance in the amount of $500,000 to dredge the Coral Gables Waterway. This Agreement was amended by Amendment No. 1 on March 23, 2011.
Dredging operations concluded in October of this year and the project is currently in the process of being certified by the engineer of record, Milian Swain and Associates, Inc. This certification and administrative closeout process is expected to last another couple of months.
SFWMD has prepared the attached Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 4600001900 which extends the expiration date of the Agreement to September 2012 in order to allow adequate time to close out the project, and to revise the Payment and Deliverables Schedule in accordance with the new expiration date.
