Congratulations to Detective David Carrazana recipient of the City of Coral Gables December Officer of the Month Award and the 2011 Officer of the Year Award.

Selected as Officer of the Month for December because of his work as the lead investigator on an armed robbery where shots were fired that resulted in two victims being beaten and robbed. Detective Carrazana, having only a basic description, worked diligently, and singlehandedly located the subjects responsible not only for that robbery, but for an armed home invasion robbery that had also resulted in shots being fired. The subjects are all in jail awaiting trial.
Chosen as Officer of the Year for his work in the cases that he worked in December as well as his work that earned him the Officer of the Month Award in April. In that case, while proactively patrolling a local bank, Detective Carrazana observed a group of suspicious men and surveiled them. The men tried to flee from Detective Carrazana with no success. He stopped them and through his investigatory efforts, established they were looking to commit a robbery of one of the bank customers. The subjects were wanted by multiple agencies throughout the State of Florida.
