Congratulations to Robert Garcia, Parking Department, recipient of the City of Coral Gables Employee of the Month Award, for the month of December 2011.

The nomination was submitted by Kevin Kinney, Parking Department, which provided the following:
"I would like to nominate Robert Garcia for employee of the month. As a Parking Enforcement Officer, Robert interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner. He is recognized by his fellow employee as one of the "good guys." In September, Robert observed an individual breaking into a parked vehicle. He notified the police and aided in the apprehension of the individual. It is believed that this individual had broken into several vehicles before being identified by Robert. He is willing to help the department in any way he can. He offered to learn administrative and customer service tasks for the front office and now provides backup staffing when needed in the front office. In addition, Robert completed training as a Coral Gables Ambassador and serves as backup for that program, filling in when one of the Ambassadors is out. Robert Garcia is a great example of a great attitude and willingness to do whatever task is needed. It is my pleasure to nominate him for Employee of the Month. "
