Captain John Curry was selected as November's Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically his steadfast commitment to the Coral Gables Fire Department ensuring it remains one of the premier departments in the country. Captain Curry's dedication to the department is displayed daily by consistently making himself available to anyone in need of help and support, as well as by being one of the primary instructors for the City's community-wide CPR/First Aid Program. As the Coral Gables Fire Explorer Program leader, Captain Curry has dedicated many hours to the success of the program while mentoring the young and upcoming firefighters of the future. His allegiance and loyalty to the City of Coral Gables and the Fire Department are worthy of this long overdue recognition.
The Fire Department has recognized Captain Curry and selected him as Firefighter of the Month for November, 2011.
