Summary of Meeting
Excused Absence: Motion made by Marlin Ebbert and carried to excuse absent members Barbara Harley, Joan Reitsma, Pat Kiel, Doug Austin and Dr. Nestor Diaz.
Minutes: Motion was made by Andria Hanley to approve the May 29th, 2012 minutes and was carried.
Coral Gables Senior High ("CGSH"):
The current enrollment is at 3,384 students. The school is completing the class size requirements. ESAC testing is on October 10th and will be submitted to the state on October 12th. Coral Gables is awaiting the school grade. Coral Gables Senior is now offering National Academy of Finance and it is also the first year the finance magnet program is opened.
Ponce Middle School ("PMS"):
Ponce Middle is an 'A' school. Ponce is also one in five schools that had a 70% increase in all categories in Miami-Dade county. The schools improvement plan took place September 19th for ESAC and presentation on the 2nd of October. Current enrollment is at 1,075. Ponce Middle has lost 7 instructional position employees. The magnent fair is set for high school on October 25th and October 23rd for incoming 5th graders. Coral Gables School and Community Relations Committee September 20th, 2012 Page 2 of 2
 
Adult Education:
The adult education is currently under enrolled and the program is attempting to increase the knowledge and availability of the program to members of the community. On October 10th the program celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month.
