Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award” and Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2012.09.07 to award the Miracle Theater Marquee Repair Project to LEE Construction Group, Inc.; and authorizing a budget amendment to the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Annual Budget to recognize as revenue a transfer from General Fund Reserve and to appropriate such funds to put toward the cost of the project.

The marque sign at the Miracle Theater will undergo a restoration and reconstruction with the intent to restore the sign to its original condition. The work generally consists of, but is not limited to, temporary removal of the marque sign from the Miracle Theatre, renovation of exterior building elements, operational, mechanical and electrical work, and finishes.
On September 6, 2012, the Procurement Division formally advertised, issued, and distributed the Miracle Theater Marquee Repair Project Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2012.09.07. On September 13, 2012, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with eight (8) prospective bidders attending out of a total of eleven (11) prospective bidders who obtained the bid package from the Procurement Division.
On October 12, 2012, bid responses were submitted by LEE Construction Group, Inc., and Lego Construction Company; and two (2) no bid responses were received from Wagner Electric Sign Company, and G.I.P. Inc. The lowest responsive and responsible bid for the Miracle Theater Marquee Repair Project was submitted by LEE Construction Group, Inc., with a total base bid of $235,800.
MC Harry & Associates, the consulting architecture firm for the project and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award LEE Construction Group, Inc., the Miracle Theater Marquee Repair Project.
A budget amendment will be required to recognize as revenue a $54,950 transfer from General Fun...
