Title
Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award” and Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2012.09.06 to award the Intersection Improvements at Various Locations Project to Maggolc, Inc.

Body
The purpose of the Intersection Improvements at Various Locations Project is to provide for traffic calming improvements at various locations throughout the City under the Neighborhood Renaissance Program (NRP). These intersection improvements include, but are not limited to, milling and resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement with new pavement markings, adjusting utility structures, replacing curb and gutter, landscaping and irrigation and restoring the work area upon project completion. The street intersection locations included in this project are: Valencia Avenue - Cardena Street, San Amaro Drive - San Amaro Court, University Drive - Campo Sano Avenue, Hardee Road - Manati Avenue, Giliano Street - Sidonia Avenue, Galiano Street - Salamanca Avenue, and Segovia Street - Navarre Avenue.

On September 6, 2012, the Procurement Division formally advertised, issued and distributed the Intersection Improvements at Various Locations Project Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2012.09.06. On September 13, 2012, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with four (4) prospective bidders attending out of a total of nine (9) prospective bidders who obtained the bid package from the Procurement Division.

On October 12, 2012, bid responses were submitted by the following five (5) firms: Metro Express, Inc., Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc., Titan Construction Management, LLC., V Engineering & Consulting Corporation, and Maggolc, Inc. The lowest responsive and responsible bid for the Intersection Improvements at Various Locations Project was submitted by Maggolc, Inc., with a total base bid of $260,570.
